Incredible Battle Machines

  1. Allowing the player to build his own battle droid sounds like soooo much fun, I'd probably spend houres just on that.
  2. Balancing the robot's systems seems crutial to me and it would be really frustrating to have only a few imba configurations and I don't see how you can avoid that up to a certain extent.
  3. I hope that the players are able to create their robots in their own free time so games/deathmatches can start immediately.

Toon Dimension

  1. Coolest feature is the need to cooperate in this game, I hope this will be your biggest aspect.
  2. The same feature that forces you to cooperate (the different dimensions) could also feel a bit lonely if there's not constant need for cooperation (i.e. you don't see the other player so it feels like you're playing alone) but your ideas seem promising.
  3. No idea - just be sure to put lots of puzzels in your game and it will be fun!

Project Magma

  1. Volcanoes!
  2. Most frustrating would be if the players keep falling into the lava without even beeing able to fight each other (namely if they are pretty sure to miss the islands) - you'll need a good guiding system for island hopping i.e. much jet pack fuel or trying to anticipate where a player wants to go and being generous about him reaching there.
  3. Definitively long ranged combat and several attack techniques.

Incredible Battle Machines

  1. The most favorite aspect is the creation of the design of the robots. The possibility to determine every aspect (materials, weapons) looks very promising.
  2. It is difficult to conclude from the concept if the game play is really funny.
  3. The number of described features seems to be very large. May be it would be better to concentrate on some aspects of the game.

Toon Dimension

  1. The idea of different dimensions makes the game very challenging. I also like the style of the graphics.
  2. I'm still not sure if the concept of different dimension is really playable and does not confusing the player.
  3. The level design seems to be essential for the game play. I would spend a lot of time in creating well playable levels.

Project Magma

  1. I like the idea of island rising from the lava. The idea of interacting and colliding islands can be used well for tactical purposes.
  2. There are many different aspects (rising and moving islands, other players, weapons ...) the player has to consider. May be there is the risk that the game play becomes to hectical.
  3. I would spend a large part of the implementation time for creating an impressive environment, this seems to be the most exceeding part of the project.

Incredible Battle Machines

  1. I like the freedom the construction editor gives to construct your very own robot. This gives space for some really creative ideas and could be a long time motivation, especially because you can test your creation within battles against other players.
  2. But the complexity of the editor could get a problem: If it is too complex, it is very hard to balance the elements. If it is simple, players may get bored early with the construction. And when it is bad balanced, there may exist one optimal combination, which then is taken over by all players and the game reduces to the battle.
  3. You mentioned that also in the battle a lot of buttons will be necessary in order to control the robot? Try to keep the controls as simple as possible in the battle. It is very frustrating when you get killed because you cannot find a button i.e. to activate some weapon or to move.

Toon Dimension

  1. The fact that players have to work together in order to accomplish some task sounds very interesting. Mostly in games players have to compete against each other and thus don’t really work or communicate together.
  2. I am not sure if it works that more than one person play on one screen against each other because you can always see what your opponent does. For some game modes it may work.
  3. My advice would be to focus on the team oriented game play where all play together or may be design the levels and puzzles such that it is not an advantage if one can see what the opponent is doing or where he is.

Project Magma

  1. Really nice setting for a multiplayer game, especially the moving islands have great potential for a cool gameplay.
  2. When players die early, they may have to wait for a long time or if players kill each other very fast, the rounds may be a bit short.
  3. Adding some collectable items like health or other weapons could be nice, i.e. it may induce a fight for an island where some special item is located.
