The Gameplay of E

To keep the story short

The game is located on the 3rd moon of Endor called E-Topia. The player spawns in the Shape of an Ogre called: WeLee The Clumsee.

The Goal of WeeLee The Clumsee is to free E-Topia of his Opponents.

The basic game play shall remind the reader of games like world of war craft or Lord of the rings online. The fights are held quite similar, but the game does not support the role play character of the named games.

What can WeeLee do?

WeeLee is an Ogre and he is able to move through the environment, he can:
  • move forward
  • move backward
  • turn left
  • turn right
  • strafe left
  • strafe right
  • Shoot powerful aimed shots (Heat seeking energy bolts)
  • Apply highly damaging area effects
  • Drain Energy from the terrain
  • Emit energy to the terrain

Through endless training in the 10g dojo of capoeira master MarioLee he is also able to jump higher than any normal man can jump. To over come even huge obstacles that are in his ways.

Moreover WeeLee is very impatient and gets bored very fast, so he wants to move around all the time. (note to the player make sure he moves or he probably will fall asleep that lazy ogre)

The Energies

Trough an not quite so old wizard named Thablee he received the power to influence the elements. Trough his power he is able to drain the elements energy from E-Topia. These elemental energies can be used by him to influence the moons shape. And they empower him to create Harmful spells in order to do his task and wipe the other Players from the surface of the E-Topia.

Draining Energy

The different elements where WeeLee The Clumsee can drain energy from are:
  • Fire
  • Water
  • Earth.
These elements can ether exist in pure form, or in mixed forms.
  • Fire and Water: Steam (Air)
  • Water and Earth: Mud
  • Earth and Fire: Lava
Earth Fire and Water: The Element E the Element of Life.

Releasing Energy

All of these elements can also be released into the environment to Terraform E-Topia:
  • Fire to burn the land, melt Earth to lava or dry lakes, burn the opponent
  • Water create lakes to extinguish Fire, wash away earth, drown the opponent
  • Earth to make lava, create mud, let mountains grow, create protection from heatseeking bolts, to get high up into the air.

Or all together can be used to create Life on the E-Topia.

The energy Balance

Since these Elements stand in concurrence to each other the energies can not exist in full intensity at the same spot. But the energies can move trough the Enrgy space as described here:

The energyspace energySpace.png

This constraint also holds for WeeLee his energy is constrained by the Energyspace. And so are his Aimed shots and his area effects.

The energy Flux

Though the powers are not string in WeeLee he’s new to the business of witchcraft and is therefore in a constant energy flux with the environment. Which means E-Topia and WeeLee constantly influence each other with their energies. The more the energy of WeeLee and the Moon differ the stronger is this effect.

WeeLee and the energy within

The Energy has a strong effect on WeeLee the more energy he has soaked up the bigger he gets. Through this energy increase he is able to jump higher. But he is also slower in running. So it might be of advantage for fleeing from a fight or for overcoming far distances if he releases his energy totally.

Energy Limit

WeeLee’s experience with witchcraft is limited so is his ability to soak up energy. He can only hold certain amount of energy. After his reservoirs are full he can try to drain as long as he want he will not get more. So he has to keep MarioLee’s advice in mind that was: “Spend your energies wisely young Ogre then should your opponent hold more it can get pretty ugly for you.”

How to fight?

Basically WeeLee has two basic attacks, an aimed Attack witch is a heat seeking energy bolt and an Area Damage attack. These can be used to fight his opponents and to harm them.

The heat seeking energy bold

When WeeLee is standing still he is able to use his powers to conjure an energy bolt with the energies he has drained before. Through experimenting and trying he is able to even select witch parts of his energy he wishes to put into the Energy bolt. This can mainly decide how much harm the bolt will cause if it hits a player. But WeeLee has to be careful, since he is quite a n00b in magic, it can happen that the bolt accidently explodes while conjuring and hurt himself. The more energy the bolt contains the more likely it is that it explodes during conjuring. The energy put into the bolt also defines how fast it is. A big bolt is slower than a small one. The Bolts have a inertia which basically means that they are influenced by the angle WeeLee is releasing them.

Of course the Bolts are not indestructible as soon as they hit a solid object they explode and release their energy there. Depending on the energy mix of the bolt this has different effects.

Given by the forces of E-Topias nature the energy Bolts are also constrained by the rules of the energy space, as WeeLee is.

Another point is that the Bolts also are in a constant flux with their environment and loose and soak up energies. This fact might help WeeLee to shoot his bolt over a certain energy field to change their energy charge, or to flee to a certain region of E- Topia for hiding from the bolts. But he must be aware that it can also happen, that the energy is totally drained by the moon and therefore the energy bolt dissolves into the thin air.

This powerful attack has its price, it needs a certain cast time otherwise WeeLee can not create a bolt that is big enough to be shot.

Moreover if WeeLee gets lucky it might be that the energy bolt does twice the damage on hitting an opponent. So he can always hope for a critical hit.

Advantage of this attack: It is highly likely to hit his opponent since the energy bolt is heat seeking.

Disadvantages of this attack: Since the bolt is shot trough the environment, it can potentially get held up by obstacles, soaked out by the environment or even explode within WeeLee’s hands during casting. WeeLee should be careful if the stands in the way of one of his own bolts it will hit him too!

The Area Attack

The area is a ranged attack, that spawns at the point that WeeLee Selects. This attack does not have to overcome obstacles, can be used while moving. It spawns an energy effect at the point selected and does immense damage at this point, as long as the effect is applied there by WeeLee. This effect is totally independent of the environment and can also be used with no danger to WeeLee himself. But WeeLee once more standing in his own way, since he does not have a lot of control about it, it is therefore very hard to hit an opponent with this attack. But if it hits an opponent, it does a lot of damage. The Opponent moreover has no chance to know when it will hit him since its an instant cast of WeeLee. Even more it is applicable over bigger distances than the Aimed shot.

This attack can be channeled as Long as WeeLee wishes. The limit is just his own energy.

Advantages:

It is an Instant cast, can be applied during running, does a lot of damage, has a wide range and it can be channeled

Disadvantages:

Its very hard to hit an opponent and to keep the channeled energy at the position where he stands. It is also possible that WeeLee hits himself with this attack. But only if he applies it at his own position, this should not happen normally but since WeeLee’s last name is Clumsee you never know what he is capable of.

Of resistance and resistances

But how can WeeLee protect himself from other opponents? If WeeLee is hit by an energy bolt, the damage is dependant where in the energy space he is and where the bolt is. If they are in the same position but just the intensity differs, WeeLee won’t get hurt by the bolt at all. If he is at the opposite direction of the energy space though he gets the full load of the attack and is event anti resistance which causes even more damage and steals his life energy.

Tactical Protections

Trough the high dynamic environment of E-Topia it is in the hands of WeeLee to even build himself protections trough energy emitting or to build obstacles for the opponents that they cant overcome without changing their energy shape and exposing them to attacks of WeeLee.

Tactics

There are several tactics that can be played and these will dynamically evolve over time, when WeeLee gets more and more experienced with the energies, and can control them better and more efficient. So there is no fixed tactic to that will lead to the winning of a game. It is also dependant on the Game Mode how WeeLee has to behave to win the game.

Mode

There are different modes planed where WeeLee can show his abilities. Such as A version of Capture the Flag or a Team Death match. At this moment the only mode supported is Frag Mode. Where the goal is to kill as many as possible and to die the least possible, the ones with the best stats wins.

Frag Mode

The key elements of Frag mode shall be, that your kills are counted while your are playing. The killed Palyer instantly Respawns. The Game is timed to a certain amount of minutes. At the end the player wins that has the most Frags (kills). This mode shall keep all players busy untill the end.

Last Man Standing mode

This game lasts until all players exept for one are killed. The last man standing wins.

Capture The Flag Mode

Capture the flag (CTF) is a traditional outdoor game often played by children or sometimes adults where two teams each have a flag (or other marker) and the objective is to capture the other team's flag, located at the team's "base", and bring it back to their own base. It is also a popular paintball game and a computer game.

One variation of the game includes a "jail" area in addition to the flag on each team's territory. If a member of one team gets tagged by a member of the second team in the second team's territory, the tagged person must sit in jail either for a pre-determined time limit, or until an untagged member runs through the jail. In some cases, particularly if the jail is far from the boundary line between territories, players may be allowed to form a "human chain" from the jail towards the boundary. This makes it easier to be "rescued", the more players are in jail. The purpose of this rule may be to reduce the possibility of games ending in a virtual stalemate: if one team has nearly all its players in jail, allowing the opposing team to focus exclusively on the remaining members, it can prevent them from effecting either the release of prisoners or the capture of the flag. With this variation, with mutual consent from both teams, "Jail Break!" may be called, and all players in jail have a chance to run to their respective sides to freedom.
